What a Great Time!

I can’t express enough what a great time I had yesterday evening connecting with, talking with, and laughing with all of these wonderful people. I am honored to have the opportunity to compete in an election to represent every student, parent, teacher, paraprofessional, and classified support staff member seen here, and even those that chose not to jump in to the picture! I look forward to representing your voices on the Romoland School Board in the seat left vacant by the last election winner, Derek Rouch, when he moved to Colorado.

It’s about all of the kids, and it’s about all of the people that work hard every day to give our students the preparation for the quality of life we all know they deserve.

Thank you all for taking time out of your busy lives to talk about how to make the futures of our students the best that can possibly be.

A Special Endorsement

With 110 submitted endorsements from constituents and stakeholders…thank you to the half-dozen received today…it is difficult to single out any one endorsement. That said, I received an endorsement today from Susan Scott, Former Director of Student Services in Romoland School District, and prior to that, Principal of Boulder Ridge Middle School. Sue is one of the primary reasons my family lives in this community, as she recruited my husband to come to teach in Romoland nine years ago.

Coupled with that, Sue is a long-standing member of the Lake Elsinore Unified School District Board of Trustees. Her endorsement as a fellow board member is humbling and inspiring. I look forward to reconnecting with Sue in this capacity also.

Thank you, Sue.

Meet Me in the Park Today

I will be available for face-to-face conversations about my candidacy and to talk about your questions and concerns today from 5 pm to 7 pm at Heritage Park on the corner of Heritage Lake Drive and McCall Boulevard. Please feel free to drop by for some candid conversation about what the REAL issues are. There will be adult supervision in the play area, so feel free to bring your children. Looking forward to seeing you there.

What REALLY Are the Issues?

So what are the “issues” in this election? Actually, that’s not for me, or any other candidate, to decide. I am not going to bring you a list of self-serving ‘issues’ and then use these ‘issues’ to create talking points and propaganda to put myself in some favorable light.

So if I’m not going to deliver a plateful of fabricated issues, what are you going to get by voting for me? It’s simple: A voice. Your voice. An ear. My ear to hear your voice. The ‘issues’ will be decided by you, the voters. As an elected representative of this community, my purpose will be to listen to what you have to say, listen to what other stakeholders have to say, and weigh those opinions and concerns along with all of the other facts as items come before the school board.

Don’t let someone tell you what the issues are. That’s backward. Constituents and stakeholders are supposed to tell representatives what the issues are, not the other way around. I won’t tell you what you want to hear. Rather, I will tell the other board members what you have to say.

I thank you in advance for your vote on June 7th so that I can represent your voice. It’s about ALL the kids and about ALL those that have their best interests at heart.
